Commitment to ACT

At BHA, our “COMMITMENT TO ACT,” has double the impact. We are committed to act on behalf of the more than 12,000 Bridgeport residents who rely on the Authority’s housing assistance. We also have a commitment to A.C.T. – an acronym for Accountability, Communication and Transparency. In 2006, the Board adopted this acronym to emphasize the importance of these principles. BHA is committed to being accountable, communicating effectively, and making sure that all transactions and processes are transparent.

These ACT values are paramount as BHA fulfills all ACTivities associated with its mission, and initiates any new ACTions or policies. BHA’s commitment to ACT has been manifest through our fine tuning of policies and procedures, through our efficient use of dwindling Federal resources, and through the establishment and improvement of partnerships with government agencies, local service providers, vendors and, most importantly, BHA residents.

Focusing on the ACT principles, BHA upholds the responsibility of being an indispensable source of shelter, assistance and security for Bridgeport residents.
