New Rent Payment Options

As you know, budget cuts have led to the recent closing of BHA’s rent collection window. All residents have been notified of this change and informed of the new payment methods.

Pay your rent on-online or by phone
BHA now accepts rent payments by Mastercard or by electronic debit from your personal checking or savings account. Please click here to pay your rent on-line. There is a $5.00 convenience fee to pay by Credit or Debit card. Electronic Debits from bank accounts are free.

Mailing Payments
When mailing rent payments please note:

• Mail rent payments to Hartford address found on the envelope in your statement. Do not mail rent payments to BHA at 150 Highland Ave.
• Checks or money orders must be filled out completely with the correct payment amount
• Tear off the bottom portion of your statement and send it with your completed check or money order
• Please follow these steps carefully. Returns to BHA will be subject to reprocessing fees.

Unfortunately, we are still receiving incorrect or incomplete payments that cannot be processed. To avoid late fees, returned checks and re-processing fees of your rent payments, please be mindful of the steps above.

Direct Bank Withdrawal
BHA encourages residents to use direct withdrawal (ACH) to pay their rent. However, if you do not believe you can sustain the account balance necessary to pay the rent, please consider an alternate method of payment. If you go off ACH and then get back on, there will be s service fee for re-setup.

EBT Cards
Families with EBT cards can pay their rent at the EBT machine now located at Gary Crooks Center at 301 Bostwick Ave. EBT payments can be made during the rent period (the first ten days of the month) between 8:30 am to 4:15 pm Monday through Friday.
