The role of a Resident Association is to improve the quality of life and resident satisfaction. The main goal is to facilitate resident involvement in issues pertaining to their sites and community, thus creating a positive living environment for families living in public housing.
The purpose of a Resident Association is to:
Unite and empower residents
Promote public safety and self-sufficiency
Encourage input on housing authority programming and operations
By participating in your Resident Association, you can have a say….
In housing agency policies
In how the housing agency spends money
In modernization of its buildings
In state and national issues
Resident Associations meet once a month at each family development.
Program Size:
All residents are encouraged to participate. Participation will improve the quality of life for yourself and all residents. Proactive and productive resident associations are also a critical piece to BHA’s mission.
Eligible Participants:
All head of households (any age) or residents at least 18 years of age and whose name appears on a lease for the public housing complex that the resident association represents.
