Resident Councils are a way for residents to get involved and help improve the quality of life in their communities. By participating in your Resident Council, you can have a say….

• In how the Housing Authority spends money
• In modernization of its buildings
• In state and national issues
  

Resident Councils facilitate resident involvement by encouraging input on housing authority programming and operations. By addressing issues pertaining to the community, the Councils promote public safety, self-sufficiency, and help create a more positive living environment for families.

Resident Councils meet once a month at each family complex. All head of households (any age) or residents at least 18 years of age and whose name appears on a lease for the public housing complex that the Resident Council represents are eligible to participate.
